I'm sure Christina Hendrick's demanded plenty of stares in this beautiful Zac Posen gown. I love how she always manages to flaunt her curves in a sexy way. She has a nom for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series" category at the Emmy's tonight.

Ms. Amber Riley wowed the crowd tonight in a custom Melissa Masse gown. The beaded detail under the bust is to die for. She completed the look with Chopard Jewels and a Swarovski bag. Amber and her 'Glee' crew have 19 nominations tonight. WOW!

Actress Kaycee Stroh decided to wear Igigi's Black Magic Gown to the Emmy's tonight. As much as I want to and as much as I like this dress, I'm just not feeling this look for the Emmy's. The dress does fit her well though. ................. Who is your Best-Dressed Diva of the night?

For those of you who don't know, the HOODIE AWARDS is an award show that celebrates the community. Celebrities hand out awards from "Best Soul Food" to "Best Beauty Salon." Other celebrities in attendance: Holly Robinson-Pete, Lisa Raye, Victoria RowelL, Toya Carter and Tameka Cottle.

I have to be honest here; I am a huge fan of Kym Whitley's but not of this outfit. She looks darling from the waist up. The spanx baring skirt shows too much, the shoes are just all kinds of wrong and the open clutch are not working for me.

Comedian, actress and television host Sherri Shepherd on the other hand, looked breath-taking in her Kevin Hall grecian inspired dress.

I purchased this dress in the vintage section at my local thrift store for $3. The reasons I bought it: #1...the price and #2....it fit. I wore this outfit Saturday to Art Walk in Downtown Sacramento. It's a local art event that happens every second Saturday of the month. All different types of artists line the streets and showcase their work on crowded sidewalks. You can find everything from handmade jewelry to dope paintings. Now back to the fashion....I realize that not everyone would be thrilled about the strings hanging from my shorts....lol. I've pretty much confirmed this by posting this look on lookville. A lot of people hate the shorts. BUT, I like it! And to me, that's all that matters

Rumor has it that actress Gabourey Sidibe has a cosmetic collection in the works after she was seen meeting with makeup maven Bobbi Brown’s, WWD reports.

The following is from an article about the party for Annmarie Iverson’s new book, “In Fashion”:

Perhaps the most surprising arrival of the night was “Precious” star Gabourey Sidibe, who said she had just finished “The Big C” for Showtime. Her connection to the party was apparently through Bobbi Brown, who had done the actress’s makeup for the Golden Globes. There was talk that Sidibe had been in the Bobbi Brown offices that day, discussing the possibility of doing a color cosmetics collection, but no one involved with the company would confirm the report.

We wouldn’t be surprised if Sidibe and Brown collaborated after Brown has expressed her affinity for real-looking girls as opposed to stick-thin models. In a recent interview with the L.A. Times about her new beauty book, Brown said, “There’s not one model in the book. The girl on the cover was a waitress in our town. A lot of the girls are friends’ daughters and I had a high school kid last year, so a lot of his friends were in it. I had three boys, but I watched these girls grow up from the time they were 3 years old, some of them.”

Now, you may remember this ASOS jumpsuit from a blog post I did a while back. I decided to order it because I loved the look on the model. Well, I guess I forgot to compare the model's height and breast size to my own. I'm not too happy about the fit; I don't know if it's my strapless bra or the belt. I'm 5-5' and this is way too long for me even with platforms, but I'm sure my local seamstress can fix that problem. Other than the length problem, I love this jumpsuit. I love the color, the fabric and the wide leg pants.

Marc Jacobs to Offer Plus Sizes

Lately, there has been some great news going around. First the news of SAKS carrying plus size fashions from the likes of YSL, Chanel and D&G. Then today, I hear fabulous news of Marc Jacobs launching a plus size line. Huh? Am I dreaming? Designers are finally starting to see that fashion doesn't end at a size 10. If this is true, I'm ecstatic! BUT I'm holding everything in until I see proof! :) I have always loved Marc Jacobs designs, and I very much appreciate what he offers to the fashion world.

How did this come about? A debate on Twitter....lol. Robert Duffy, Marc Jacobs's business partner, wrote:

"Interest in plus sizes? Women are dying for fashion. Need to get the message out. We gotta do larger sizes. I'm with you. As soon as I get back to NY. I'm on it! It will take me about a year. But stay with us."

Well you go right ahead Robert! I hope you follow through on your word.

Amber Riley & Gabourey Sidibe

I'm not praising in this post; I am actually quite unhappy with they way both of these ladies are dressed.

First, I'll start with Ms. Amber Riley. She was spotted in this outfit at the premier of Eat, Pray, Love in Los Angeles. There's no doubt about it, Amber is definitely one of my favorite PLUSH dressed celebs (see the sidebar!) but that doesn't mean I agree with this outfit. Everything here is just all wrong. I don't blame her; I blame the stylist who picked this for her. Black suede boots in the summer is just all kinds of wrong and that jacket is way too small.

Ms. Gabourey Sidibe attended the Casio 'Shock the World' event at The Manhattan Center in this IGIGI dress. I'm not knocking the dress or her shoes; I actually love this dress on her. It's the color and fit of the jacket that I am not too thrilled with. When it comes to accessories, I know less is more but can we give her a ring or a bracelet?

Oh my......

It looks like FFFWeek will be heading to the west coast. Luckily for me, I'm right up the street. I have been dying to attend this event ever since I got word of it, and I will finally get my chance. YES!

According to The Curvy Fashionista, The press release states:

Full Figured Fashion Week(end)™ Brings the Best of Plus-Size Fashion to Los Angeles Fashionistas–October 28th-30th, 2010
New York, NY. Gwen DeVoe worked for decades to get full-figured fashion, models and designers respect and attention in the fashion industry. This past June she landed major international coverage for the second annual Full Figured Fashion Week™–from a front-page piece in The New York Times to dispatches on dozens of fatshion blogs and magazines that cover fashion trends for women size 14 and up. Today, DeVoe announced the fall launch of Full Figured Fashion Week(end)™ Los Angeles from October 28th-30th, 2010.

A couple of months back I was quite unmoved when it came to anything shiny. I thought anything too loud made me look bigger, so I ran away from metallics and glitter all together….. BUT lately I’ve been paying very close attention. After browsing numerous blogs and watching several red carpet events, I saw firsthand how celebs would work these sequined skirts, dresses and tops. And that’s all it took for me to fall in style-love!

My most favorite look is the sequined skirt with and an oversized blazer. I love the idea of a sequin skirt – sexy, fun and relaxed.

Thrift Store Haul

I had the opportunity to go "thrift store" shopping with my Mother today. Something that I always look forward to. We always have a BLAST! My Mother is one stylish woman and she has me hooked on fashion and finding bargains. I am sooooo glad we chose to go to this particular thrift store because I found so many FABULOUS things at GREAT prices that I want to share.

First I would like to share my most FAVORITE thing I found :)

This Newport News jumpsuit was $1!! Sounds unbelievable, eh? My mom scoped this out for me! I am in LOVE with the fit! It doesn't fit snug and it's actually very slimming. I bought this leopard belt a few weeks back at Fashion Bug for $3 and the shoes are from Target.

My mom would not be that moved by this outfit. She always accuses me of being too "matchy-matchy." I could have picked a better outfit but I wanted to showcase both the skirt and shoes! I paid $5 for this purple high waisted skirt and my friend Monica spotted these beautiful shoes for me. They cost $10! Now normally, I tuck all my shirts in when I wear high waisted skirts but my spanx has gone missing so I had to let my shirt hang! :+)

The blue shape print dress! At first, this dress had distracting sleeves, and was almost left on the rack because of that. I decided to make a few alterations to make this work for me. I cut the arms off and bunched up the right side....and then put a pin in it! Isn't it cute? Dress price: $2.50

Embellished Maxi Shirt. This skirt is cute and fun! You really can't tell in the photo but the bottom has beautiful crystal beads. Price: $5! I bought this ruffled shoulder shirt from Ross a few months back.

Shiny Silver Shirt.....Cost me $1! I've always wanted something bright and shiny to wear out to the club; I can't believe I've found just that for only four quarters! The black elastic waist skirt and belt are from Ross. My pink shoes are Betseyville and can be bought here in white or black.

These silver snake skin flats are from Old Navy and cost $3.99

The light brown ballerina flats are from Nine West and cost $1.99. The dark brown patent leather pumps are from Steve Madden and cost $5.99. Can we say STEAL!?!

What’s the biggest fashion tip you can provide a plus size woman?

The basic, basic thing I can tell any full-figured woman to do is to wear the proper undergarment. Whether it’s a girdle, whether it’s a spank … whatever it is, where it in a size smaller, too. Wear something that’s going to just hold you in, so that you’re not jiggling all over the place. That’s the foundation of everything. That body has to be tight.
It’s like makeup. You have to put on your foundation, then your powder, then your color. There’s always an underneath something going on. For the plus woman, that something must be right and tight and holding your body together.

What styles best fit a bigger woman?

A-line is a great silhouette for them and the wrap dress is their best friend because whether you lose or gain weight, you can adjust the wrapping on the dress.

Also, you can’t go wrong with custom-made. If it’s cut for you and with you in mind, then it can’t be wrong. That’s why it’s nice to have something made to fit your shape and not buying off the rack. You’ll always look good in it because it’s made with your measurements and your body type in mind.

I have always adored the Forever 21 store because of the prices and the uniqueness of their clothes. I love the fact that you can pick up all different types of plain pieces, add a couple of accessories and come out with a bangin' outfit. I'm hoping this new line will bring it when it comes to style; I'm also hoping that their 2x doesn't fit like a smedium (yes! smedium, that's small and medium...lol). With prices ranging from a shocking $3.50 to $34.80, I am definitely heading over to the site when it becomes available.
